Nottingham City and the surrounding areas are something I am truly proud of, mainly because of the passion of our communities.
However there is more to the place we call home, there is a underlying passion to make things better, with purpose and hope.
For over twenty four years the people of Nottingham have shared that purpose and determination and that is why i stand with our communities to create change.
I have campaigned to improve the face of our communities, supporting campaigns, elections and causes across the region. Including working with community groups that truly make a difference, such as the homeless, veterans support and pathways for young people.
My understanding of conservatism may vary among individuals, ranging from promoting individual entrepreneurship and reduced reliance on the state to cherishing our liberties under British law and order, most of all creating "Purpose and Hope" in our communities.
Yet, at its core, my conservatism resonates with the diversity of communities that breathe life into our nation, championing people’s freedom of choice and opportunities.
Growing up on a council estate, community-driven initiatives were central to our family, collaborating with local leaders across councils, law enforcement, and community groups to enhance the lives of our neighbours.
This upbringing instilled in me an inclusive approach and a commitment to advocating for social change in critical areas like housing, education, and healthcare.
These foundational principles have guided my life’s trajectory, emphasising personal improvement and collaborative efforts to create a better social environment.
In relation to policy and political cause that I am most driven by, this would be defined and encompassed within the individual free market approach, which has also combined into areas such as the Levelling Up policy & covers areas such as educational services to work opportunities through apprenticeships, targeting high street development and housing, especially inner city rejuvenation and reducing crime, especially knife crime through community lead intervention and understanding.
Collaboration is at the heart of what I do, along with a laser focus determination to create purpose and hope for the next generation.
A Successful Business Career
Responsible for a global brand across the East Midlands, I oversee the retail operations, previously led the establishment and expansion of Aldi across the UK, opening over 130 stores, developing distribution centres and creating livelihoods.
Meaning I understand the efforts small business and medium have every day, including the financial challenges this government is burdening on business today.
A Record of Voluntary Service
As a member and Past National President of Round Table, I am a perennial organiser of events and challenges. I have led campaigns that raised over £750,000 for good causes.
Throughout my business career, I have always supported the communities from which my workforce has come.
That includes grass-root level campaigns in the East Midlands, to tackle the most difficult of subjects: Knife Crime, Education, Physical Rehabilitation & Mental Health Projects that support all generations.
